I love this group. It's honestly my favorite one. That being, I'm bummed that this group doesn't seem as active as it used to be. :( I really miss everything such as the critique for critique. Not trying to be mean or rude, as I know we all have lives outside of dA, but I just miss the group. The critiques you guys would give me helped me out a lot, and I'm grateful for that. Perhaps I could help out when I get a chance. I just saw that you posted a journal about new admins a month ago so I will check it out.

Hi there, I recently submitted a photo for review to be accepted and it was declined. I'm fairly certain I met all guidelines and was wondering why it was declined? I usually put this question in the comments of the correspondence item when this occurs on groups so I know what I did wrong or if it was simply not up to the standard of the group, but find that no one ever responds (which is incredibly frustrating for an artist not getting this feedback) so please can you explain to me what was the issue? Thanks :)

Can I please have a reason why you won't accept any of my pictures?

I have a question for all the photographers here. I'm looking to get into media at college (that involves photo/video editing and acquisition) but I don't have a top of the range camera. I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-W730. Some college courses require a portfolio while most don't. Anyhow, I'm 17 and I don't have a portfolio yet. Everyone I've spoken to has said that a top of the range camera doesn't matter and that it's about the photography skills. Is this true? And if so, does anyone know any tips on how to make photographs look nice with a camera like mine?
